Hands-on with Canon’s new PowerShot lineup
Posted Jan 31st 2008 1:04PM by Steven KimFiled under: Digital Cameras Lugging around a DSLR just isn’t for everyone, and Canon’s got the heart of the market covered with their Powershot digicams. The ELPH series has always focused on compact and stylish design, and the new 8-megapixel SD1100 IS is no exception. Small enough that you won’t set off anyone’s “photographer nearby” alarm, and you can even pick a color that blends with your wardrobe for more stealth; available in brown, pink, blue and champagne. Even quick snaps might turn out with the help of the image stabilization. A little less fashion minded (and less expensive) but no less capable are the A-series cams, the A590 IS, A580 and A470. PX-3600 Clone Amalgamation

PX-3600 Clone Amalgamation
Check out the PX-3600 console that hails from where else but China. It probably needs to see a shrink as it can’t decide on whether it wants to be an Xbox, a PS2, a PS3, or even something totally revolutionary. Chances are near non-existent that it will be able to handle current or even past gen console games, but ought not to have any problem with titles from the 8- and 16-bit eras. You will be able to run your own shady clone console shop only if you order a thousand of these or more, although I’m not too sure just how many customers you will get. Toyota Anti-Mite Allergen Seat Fabric
Toyota is the first in the world to release a car seat fabric which prevents mite allergens from becoming active in a vehicle’s cabin. Those who want this new fabric will have to wait for vehicle models that are released in Japan in the near future. The new seat fabric comes with an anti-allergen agent which envelops nearly 98% of the mite allergens that settle on a seat’s treated surfaces. It does so without affecting the color or texture of the seat fabric. Is there any fabric that helps secrete chemicals to keep backseat drivers quiet? Report: Zalman’s Gun Mouse Shoots Self In Foot

Report: Zalman’s Gun Mouse Shoots Self In Foot
Making macho game controllers is a game unto itself, and history is littered with such attempts to appeal to the strange minds of adolescent boys. Zalman’s FPSGun is the latest, a mouse with a gungrip and a button where the trigger would be. It has a glowing scrollwheel, 2000 dpi sensor, and it doesn’t quite work right. Maximum PC reports that it tracks unequally well on the horizontal and vertical axes, is too small for comfortable use, and is no good for anything except games. What next, a penis mouse? Logitech’s MX Revolution goes Bluetooth at the FCC
Posted Jan 31st 2008 9:59AM by Paul MillerFiled under: Peripherals, Wireless If you’ve been holding off on Logitech’s budget-busting MX Revolution in hopes of a Bluetooth version, your time may well be at hand. The FCC just gave the stamp of approval (way to keep down those “spurious signals,” Logitech) to a certain M-RCL124 model of Bluetooth mouse that appears to be an exact replica of the MX Revolution in shape and buttonry. Obviously we’ve got nothing as far as price or release date, but we’re hoping for “soon” and “less than our next paycheck.” (Read the full post about ‘Logitech’s MX Revolution goes Bluetooth at the FCC’…)

I like a good chair PC chair, my current one is giving me headaches as it is a little bit too wide for my desk. This chair from Pyramat seems to have the form factor down to a size that will comfortably fit most desk environments and they have brought 2.1-channel sound to the party as well. There are two full range speakers placed either side of the headrest and there is a powered subwoofer hiding somewhere in the construction. Aside from things like the MP3 dock, the PC Gaming Chair 2.1 is a plush looking seat. (Read the full post about ‘A Plush Ride, Pyramat’s PC Gaming Chair’…)

Asus announces E-TV, E-DT, E-Monitor
Asus will be adding to the lineup of Eee products, no longer will it just be limited to the much talked about ultra-portable Eee PC laptop. Asus will begin offering LCD TV’s, a desktop PC and all-in-one style computer similar to the iMac and XPS One. The LCD TV line is going to enter the larger than 42-inch market and is expected to retail for no higher than $200 more than competing brands. They will “integrate the Linux-based PC functionality of other Eee PC products,” and are looking for a September launch. The desktop PC will be the E-DT and will initially feature an Intel Celeron processor with later models to use Intel’s Shelton’08 platform with Diamondville processors and the 945GC chipset. Contactless payment trial goes live on San Francisco’s BART
Posted Jan 31st 2008 8:24AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Cellphones, TransportationWe knew full well that a contactless payment trial would soon be underway in the city by the Bay, and now it’s finally ready for use by 230 guinea pigs. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of details on the Samsung handsets and the technology itself, but we do know that the program is being closely watched in hopes of it operating quite smoothly. If indeed that happens, it could be “expanded,” presumably allowing others in the area to have their bank account dinged with the swipe of a cell each time they need a lift. Furthermore, a video clip at CBS5 shows the pilot phone being used to snag some totally nourishing grub from Jack in the Box. Free Porn “Coming” to Cellphones

Written by admin on Thursday, January 31st, 2008 in gadgets.

Free Porn “Coming” to Cellphones
Gregory Piccionelli has the best job in the world. According to Reuters, he is “a lawyer specializing in adult entertainment”. He also predicts that North America is on the verge of a mobile smut-flood. Piccionelli foresees free porn on cellphones, something that is a lot more attractive with large, high resolution displays like that of the iPhone. The porn industry is, as ever, ahead of the game, and realizes that giving away content will drive sales of other services, like live video feeds and “adult dates”, which is a euphemism for “prearranged sex with strangers” (a lucrative cottage industry, no doubt). Worries about children getting access to adult content has until now held back the industry in the US. (Read the full post about ‘Free Porn “Coming” to Cellphones’…)

tvCompass takes laziness to a whole new level

tvCompass takes laziness to a whole new level
tvCompass is mostly known for their innovative and unique remote controls. This new one, is arguably the most unique so far. Televisions and HDTV’s have become very popular in the past few years and remote controls have struggled to keep up, but this is one that is sure to keep you on top of things, as one of its main features is Wi-Fi, yes that’s right Wi-Fi. When I saw this, I was thinking why would anyone need Wi-Fi on their remote, and I’m still wondering that. Anyway, you can browse the web while watching TV on it’s 2.2-inch cell phone-like LCD screen. The SR 1500 Digital Media Remote can control up to 24 electronic devices, “hot keys” for real-time information updates. (Read the full post about ‘tvCompass takes laziness to a whole new level’…)
