All I can say is wow, I am not a Halo fanboy and I do not own an X-360, but I would consider getting one of these. Ben Heck has done very well for himself here, bundling X-360 internals into a somewhat husky laptop case. A 17-inch laptop screen is all you need to enjoy some mobile Halo 3 and a full keyboard should see this being multifunctional. Nice job Ben, I will let the pictures and video (after the jump) do the rest of the talking. (Read the full post about ‘A Heck of a Mod, X-Box 360 Laptop’…)

Posted Feb 4th 2008 2:41PM by Darren MurphFiled under: Storage We know how you Transformers aficionados roll — you’ll spend your very last dollar just to ensure your collection stays complete. That being said, we’d probably recommend skipping right over this Autobot 1GB USB flash drive, unless you dig (likely) non-licensed gear cluttering up your pristine heap, that is. If you’re still letting your heart cloud your mind, riddle us this: what legitimate piece of Transformers kit requires you to purchase 12?[Via Coolest-Gadgets] (Read the full post about ‘Autobot flash drive probably isn’t licensed, doesn’t care’…)

First Look: MacBook Air

First Look: MacBook Air
After weeks–months if you consider the rumors–of anticipation the MacBook Air is finally out in the wild. According to Apple, orders made today are shipping in two to three weeks but people who pre-ordered the Air right after the keynote should be getting their units quite soon. Even if you didn’t buy one you can finally stop by your local Apple store and check one out. I had a chance to do just that over the weekend. I got to the Apple Store early, slapped on some hand-sanitizer, and gave the MBA a test run. I didn’t bother to take a lot of pictures because there are lots of great galleries online already, but I did spend enough time to get some impressions about the notebook. Swap music between iPods with miShare

Swap music between iPods with miShare

Have you ever hung out with someone discussing music, when you both realize that you each have songs the other want? If you’re not near a computer, then there’s really no good way to share your music. However, with the miShare you can just hook up your iPods and swap tracks to your heart’s content. The miShare is a simple little device with two 30-pin dock connectors that will work with most iPods 3G and up (unfortunately not the iPod Touch or iPhone). Connect both iPods and press the button to transfer the last song (or video) played. Hold down the button and your entire ‘On-The-Go’ playlist gets copied. Posey Interactive Toy For Adults

Posey Interactive Toy For Adults
Playing with LEGO is more often than not an activity associated with kids, but chances are adults will have fond memories of their childhood with these building blocks and probably would enjoy building more stuff without letting the rest of the world know. Posey could open that door for them, being touted to be a “hands-on way of interacting with computers”. It features a bunch of snap-together, sensor-laden parts that communicates with PCs via ZigBee. Take for example, attaching a leg to a body, the on-screen representation will mimic the movement almost immediately. Hopefully these will go commercial in the near future as I have plenty of pent-up creativity that needs an outlet of expression. (Read the full post about ‘Posey Interactive Toy For Adults’…)

ThinkGeek Vibe Body Sound Earphones
Looks like it didn’t take too long for the En-Tech Vibe NVE-100 earphones to arrive Stateside from Korea, appearing on ThinkGeek slightly over a month after the Korean release. Well, at least we don’t have hand-drawn designs to refer to this time, with images of the actual product being readily available. Named as the Vibe Body Sound earphones, you get a pair of headphones that are clipped onto your outer ear. Sound reaches your eardrum thanks to the Vibe Body Sound earphones that conduct vibrations through your skin and cartilage, sending audio straight to your skull’s inner ear for crystal clear audio. All this without remaining deaf to what’s going on around you - neat eh? (Read the full post about ‘ThinkGeek Vibe Body Sound Earphones’…)

Intel launching Tukwila: world’s first 2 billion transistor chip
Posted Feb 4th 2008 5:47AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: Misc. Gadgets We first head of Intel’s quad-core Tukwila back in 2006. Now, it’s launching at the International Solid State Circuits Conference. Expected to arrive in the second half of the year, the 2GHz Itanium processor packs in more than 2 billion transistors. Unfortunately, it’s headed straight to the raised-floor room, not your consumer-class desktop. The good news for IT types is that the proc doubles the performance of Intel’s enterprise-class, 9100-series Montvale processors with just a 25% increase in power consumption. So, we looking at 4 billion transistors by 2010 Mr. Moore? Probably, Tukwila is still using 65-nm processes as opposed to Intel’s new 45-nm technolog (Read the full post about ‘Intel launching Tukwila: world’s first 2 billion transistor chip’…)
