Momenta necklace captures life’s best, worst moments
Posted Feb 22nd 2008 9:14AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Wearables Oh sure, there’s a multitude of head-mounted cameras out there for devout lifebloggers to snap up and wear, but we’re guessing the world looks a bit different when you’re scaring everyone off while waltzing down the street. Granted, the Momenta necklace isn’t a whole lot more attractive, but at least it’s a touch less noticeable. This concept would reportedly capture anything and everything that happened in front of the wearer, and when it detects a sudden jump in heart rate, it’ll log everything that happened five minutes prior and continue rolling until you tell it to halt. Kind of freaky, sure, but capturing the faces of folks who see you wearing this thing for (Read the full post about ‘Momenta necklace captures life’s best, worst moments’…)

LiveSpeakR Stereo Dock

LiveSpeakR Stereo Dock
The LiveSpeakR Stereo Dock looks like something that fell out from outer space, as it wraps itself around the iphone and ipod touch. Depending on your viewing preference, the LiveSpeakR accomodates both vertical and horizontal positioning when watching video. There is no word on pricing and availability as at press time, but would you like to have one of these sitting on your desk at home? I think there are way better looking iPod docks in the market at the moment. (Read the full post about ‘LiveSpeakR Stereo Dock’…)

Novint Black Falcon Controller

Novint Black Falcon Controller

The Novint Falcon PC game controller was quite the novelty when it was first released, and still is. This is one of the first few 3D touch peripheral for consumer computing, and the company manufacturing the Falcon, Novint Technologies, think that it is high time they offered it in a different color - black. In addition, a new grip was also introduced, whereby the standard Falcon Grip can be interchangeable with the Pistol Grip. Both the Black Falcon and Pistol Grip will retail for $199.99 and $19.99, respectively, and ought to make their way to retail stores sometime before Father’s Day 2008. Stainless steel ice scraper for your wallet

Stainless steel ice scraper for your wallet
I live in a snow-less state (Hawaii), so I can’t relate to those who have ruined their credit cards by using them as ice scrapers. I don’t even know what an ice scraper is! We use squeegees on our windshields occasionally, but that’s about the extent of our winter-weather tools here. Even so, I can still see the value in something like this Wallet Ice Scraper (£5) from Touch of Ginger. I wonder if it’ll cut through a coconut . . . Via Daily Gadget. UK Troops Get New Enemy Spotting System

UK Troops Get New Enemy Spotting System
Looks like UK armed forces will have a vast advantage over others in the battlefield from next year onwards thanks to its new “Surveillance System and Range Finder”. This system is able to spot and locate enemy positions up to 3 miles away, where they can then call in the artillery using precisely-derived GPS coordinates. This is an all-weather, day-and-night handheld device which will bring a definite change in the battlefield. I myself would hope that nobody will ever use this, since that would equal to a war somewhere in the world. The UK Ministry of Defense has already asked for 700 of these which will cost a whopping $60 million. (Read the full post about ‘UK Troops Get New Enemy Spotting System’…)

GeForce 9 roadmap revealed, 9800 GX2 due March 11th?
Posted Feb 22nd 2008 10:40AM by Paul MillerFiled under: Desktops, Gaming The new budget-friendly 9600 GT (pictured) already has plenty of folks excited, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. NVIDIA’s new GeForce 9-series has a top-end 9800 GX2 card slated for March 11th — if these rumors are to be believed — that is supposed to best the 8800 Ultra’s performance by a solid 30 percent. The card is supposed to land for less than $599, but if that’s a bit much for you, the 9800 GTX should hit for under $399 in “late March,” with the 9800 GT following on April 3rd for under $299. If all of this is too much horsepower for you, the 9600 GS, 9500 GT and 9500 GS are slated to arrive in May, June and July, respectively, and all should hit at under the 9600 GT’s already friendly sub-$200 pricepoint. Bluelounge SpaceStation doesn’t add space, just wraps cables

Bluelounge SpaceStation doesn’t add space, just wraps cables
Posted Feb 22nd 2008 5:27AM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Misc. gadgets Ok, we have no idea why a USB hub tucked inside a long box with cable management clips would cost $80, but we won’t deny the SpaceStation is a clever and useful, if bulky and even a bit unsightly accessory. You know what we could really use though? A power strip with USB-charger ports. Why the hell hasn’t anyone made one of those? Yes, we demand royalties for these gems.
