Sub-$300 3G iPhone is the Bomb
While the economy isn’t exactly as rosy as everyone would like, there is still some silver lining in this dark cloud according to investment bank Piper Jaffray who is pretty bullish on Apple, claiming that a diversification in the iphone line will result in 45 million handsets being exchanged at cash registers (virtual or otherwise) worldwide. In fact, an analyst from the bank has tipped off that a 3G model is widely expected to arrive this June, following by the probability of a more significant model by next year which will reside between the $200 and $300 price point. What do you think about this prediction? Will Cupertino’s stock start to fly high all over again? (Read the full post about ‘Sub-$300 3G iPhone is the Bomb’…)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky confirmed for August

Written by admin on Monday, March 31st, 2008 in gadgets.

In July last year developer GSC Game World announced they were creating a follow-up game to their hit title S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl (SSoC) called Clear Sky. That game would form a prequel to the events seen in the original title.

With SSoC taking several years to develop I’m happy to report the next game will take nowhere near as long to arrive. GSC has confirmed Clear Sky will be released for PC on August 29 this year with a simultaneous worldwide launch. Sergiy Grygorovych, GSC World Publishing CEO said:

Our intention to deliver the game simultaneously worldwide is both a challenge and big responsibility to the many fans of the game around the globe.

Japanese Company Sells Placenta ‘Health Drinks,’ Leads To Wild Speculation From Gadget Labbers
The Placenta 10000 drink from Nihon Sofuken is a popular new drink in Japan. It’s supposed to taste like tender peaches. Yet, despite the fact that I’ve never tried it, my imagination and previous experience with Placenta products has already made it revolting. Fellow Gadget Labber Rob Beschizza agrees: "One does not think "What a delicious, refreshing drink that would make," when one Googles "placenta.’" According to myth, placenta has regenerative properties and is usually placed in dedicated areas. For example, if you suffer from a depigmentation ailment, you’re supposed to dab a little bit of it on the skin and the color will fill in after a few weeks. Suunto Core Watch

There is a new Suunto Core watch in town, and this one, like its predecessors, cater to folk who love the great outdoors, especially climbers, mountain bikers and other adventure sports enthusiasts. It allows you to track both your altitude and bearings while being smart enough to alert you of oncoming storms so you won’t be caught unawares. All this is made possible by Suunto’s own ‘ABC functionality’ mantra that includes an altimeter, barometer and compass. The compass itself is electronic, so there will be less chances of it malfunctioning compared to a standard model. The new Suunto Core watch comes in a choice of half a dozen colors and has different straps to choose from. (Read the full post about ‘Suunto Core Watch’…)

Bank of America Predicts 3G iPhone in May

Bank of America Predicts 3G iPhone in May
There are two things we know about the 3G iPhone. It’s coming sometime this year, and Apple will tell us nothing until it is damned well ready. The latter is summed up in a speculative article from Reuters: Apple representative Jennifer Bowcock declined comment. According to the article, Bank of America is now in on the iPhone rumor game, and predicts that the 3G handset will be here in the second quarter of 2008. BoA’s “channel checks” tell analyst Scott Craig that Apple will manufacture a whopping three million 3G iPhones in May alone, followed by another eight million in the third quarter. It seems a lot, and if true, makes Apple’s official plan to shift ten million units by the end of this year look very conservative. Blackberry 9000 caught in the wild

Blackberry 9000 caught in the wild
Engadget got hold of a blackberry 9000 and they were in awe of the slick new user interface. The 9000 features both WiFi and HSDPA. On closer inspection, though, we find that the phone is leaving a very positive second impression. The phone’s lines seem flow really well (dare we call a BlackBerry “sexy”?) without losing its purpose-suited stance exuded by the 8300s, 8700s, and 8800s of yore. The real kicker, though, might be the beautiful user interface, which has been totally revamped from the ground up; gone is the cartoonish look and feel of the current lineup, replaced with a modern, warm theme with wireframe icons and slick animations. Sirius, XM counsel discusses pricing programs with FCC
Following approval of the Department of Justice, legal counsel of both Sirius and XM met with the FCC on Wednesday to discuss the merger proposal of the two companies. The merger proposal was given the nod by DOJ, and so XM and Sirius seem to wasting little time in getting the FCC’s approval. Based on record of filing at the FCC, the meeting was held last Wednesday before FCC Chairman Kevin Martin. Together with the legal counsel of Sirius and XM, others who were present during the meeting were Daniel Gonzales, Chairman of Martin’s Chief of Staff and Michelle Carey, Chairman Martin’s Senior Legal advisor.
