Kodak Easyshare digital photo frames released

Kodak, a household name when it comes to all things photography, has just announced an enhanced Digital Picture Frame portfolio which consists of three different digital photo frames, ranging from 7″ in size to 8″ and 10″ to suit just about every need there is for a casual living room accessory. Not only does Kodak claim that these will look both sleek and stylish, they also boast a range of features including the recently unveiled Quick Touch Border for easier image manipulation and maintenance. All it takes with Quick Touch Border is a slide or touch of the finger at the highlighted sections, as this will not result in a smudged screen which will interfere with photo viewing. Aperture Update Adds Plugin Support, Dodge And Burn

Written by admin on Friday, March 28th, 2008 in gadgets.

Apple has given us something for the weekend: a 2.1 update for Aperture. Normally a “point” update wouldn’t get a mention, but this one introduces a single feature that could be enough to wrest photographers away from its rival, Adobe’s Lightroom.

The feature is dodge and burn, and is not even real new feature, just an example plugin from Apple to showcase the new plugin support introduced in this release. This is big because now anybody can write image manipulation tools. Lightroom only supports export plugins. These additions mean that more can be achieved in Aperture without taking a trip to Photoshop. And all of those edits remain non-destructive.

Handset Encourages Texting In Class

Written by admin on Friday, March 28th, 2008 in gadgets.

The Activexpression from Promethean is either brilliant or doomed. It’s a mobile phone-like handset designed for use in schools. The units, which use RF to communicate with the base station, sport a decidedly old-school monochrome 128×128 pixel LCD screen.

The teacher can issue quizzes and the kids key in answers via the familiar multi-tap keyboard. We don’t know why this is better than pen and paper, or even talking, but we know how much the teens love their cellphones, and from our point of view, more gadgets in the classroom is always better.

Don’t you just love folks who have that streak of genius in them? They tend to come up with the wackiest inventions even Einstein would be proud of. Digital Photography And People Pictures
Filed in archive Photography by jim on March 28, 2008 Most people who have a digital camera use it, among other things, to take pictures of other people. How many times have you heard: "Smile", "Look into the camera", "Hold still", etc? Well those commands may be OK for a formal portrait, and those are just fine, but this type of picture doesn't really capture the essence of an individual. What you want is a picture that looks natural, not posed. For this type of shot you'll want your subject to do something other than to stare directly into the lens and have the result look like a mug shot. Week O’ Dell Scoops Part Deux, fini: the Latitude E-series accessories
Posted Mar 28th 2008 8:04AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: Laptops, Peripherals We’re closing out our Week O’ Dell scoops the way it began, with Dell’s new Ergo, revealed. Clearly, it’s not a waffle iron or bulk food scale with lcd monitor. It’s just an E-series stand supporting LCDs up to 24-inches. Sorry, but it looks like the existing Latitude D-series of docks won’t work for the new Es. As such, prepare to purchase a truckload of new E-Ports to accompany your Latitude E6000 and E5000 laptops, E4300 and E4200 ultra-portables, and the semi-rugged E6400 ATG. At least the XT2 Tablet should work with the existing XT media base. All the details can be found in the gallery below.Gallery: Week O’ Dell Scoops, part deux fini: the Latitud (Read the full post about ‘Week O’ Dell Scoops Part Deux, fini: the Latitude E-series accessories’…)
