LG Launches New Black Label

LG Launches New Black Label
The only Black Label that I truly love is that of the alcoholic variety, but LG has just rolled out its Black Label series which makes for a worthy successor after the LG Chocolate and Shine. I do know that it comes with a 5 megapixel camera, and touts itself to be the slimmest of its kind in the world, which means it must be no thicker than the 14.9mm found on the Samsung G600. I have a feeling that one of these days, cell phone will be so fragile that they break in half when you sit on them. The LG Black Label also has carbon fibre and tempered glass styling to add to its class. (Read the full post about ‘LG Launches New Black Label’…)

Fi-Hi Novelty Bag

Fi-Hi Novelty Bag
The Fi-Hi novelty bag is no ordinary knapsack, as it carries more than just books. After all, with integrated speakers and amps, you will be able to ’share’ your favorite tunes with those around, so better make sure they’re universally appealing if you want to prevent being lynched by a mob who’s upset at the Britney Spears and her ilk. There is no word on how powerful it is, but it is available in a wide range of sizes and styles. No idea how much one of these puppies will cost though. Lenovo gets out of mobile handset business

Written by admin on Monday, April 7th, 2008 in gadgets.

It’s official–Lenovo is out of the mobile handset business. Many people may not even have known that Lenovo had a handset business (the handsets were sold primarily in China), but PCWorld reported that Lenovo completed the sale of its handset unit on March 31st.

Lenovo’s mobile handset division had been suffering over the last year, which drove the company to consider selling it. According to PCWorld, handset shipments for the mobile unit declined 31 percent in the quarter ending in December of last year. The sale will be reflected in the company’s latest quarter which ended March 31st.

There are just too many handset businesses out there for Lenovo to compete.

5-in-1 Gadget Pen isn’t just a writing instrument

5-in-1 Gadget Pen isn’t just a writing instrument
Though I am usually skeptical about multi-functional devices, my love for unusual pens weakens this stance when it comes to the 5-in-1 gadget pen. This cool pen has 5 different integrated tools which includes a ball-point tip for writing, mini torch, laser pointer, bank note checker, stylus for your PDA, and a neuralizer which you can use to wipe away people’s memories! Like Agent J from Men in Black. Credit the neuralizer to my wild imagination (read yearning), but even without that, the 5-in-1 pen holds my interest. The sleek silver finish adds a geeky touch to the gadget which weighs just about 30g in spite of the embellishments. All yours for just $11. Via The Red Ferret Journal. Plastica makes a thermos for food (at last!)

Plastica makes a thermos for food (at last!)
Is the plural of thermos “thermoses” or “thermice”? While you’re pondering that, allow me to introduce you to this fabulous new food thermos from Plastica. The problem with storing soups and stews in a traditional thermos is that the top is never wide enough to pour out a decent portion - leaving your chicken noodles or chunky vegetables languishing uneaten at the bottom of the flask. Plastica’s Thermos Food Jar costs $30 and is made especially to store and pour any kind of hot food. It will keep your stew steaming for 12 hours and chill your gazpacho for 20. Even better, there’s an integrated spoon so you don’t have to gulp your soup out of a cup (I hate that). (Read the full post about ‘Plastica makes a thermos for food (at last!)’…)

GPS Dog Tracking System

Wish you could keep a close eye on your pooch, and at least have a good idea of where it is after being dog-napped? The GPS Dog Tracking System might be able to help you out. This is the dog tracking system that employs a small GPS receiver attached to your dog’s collar that alerts you when he goes missing or leaves a defined area and notifies you via text message or e-mail. You can then instantly pinpoint your dog’s whereabouts through the manufacturer’s tracking service (12 month subscription required) that provides unlimited on-demand reports of your pet’s current location 24 hours a day via toll-free phone, web maps, e-mail, or cell phone text alerts. Minox DC-8011 packs 8 megapixels into a yawner compact

Written by admin on Monday, April 7th, 2008 in gadgets.

If anything, Minox does a decent job of aping its big name counterparts in looks and feature set — if only it wasn’t on average a couple years late to the party. The Minox DC-8011 seems to be a perfectly passable budget compact, with an 8 megapixel CCD, 2.7-inch LCD and electric image stabilization. It even measures in at under an inch thick and offers 4x optical zoom, but that’s about as exciting as things get here — which is to say, not very exctign.
