Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 gets reviewed

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 gets reviewed
Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-LZ10 certainly won’t win over many folks on its looks alone, but Photography Blog found that it more makes up for its rather bland exterior where it counts, and they’ve given the 10-megapixel camera high marks across the board in their new review. Winning the most praise is the camera’s full manual controls, which proved to be enough to get Photography Blog to declare the LZ10 “one of the most versatile compacts in its class.” Just as importantly, it also found the image quality to be an improvement over the previous generation models, with the 5x, 30mm wide-angle zoom lens turning in some great results and the camera’s image stabilization feature actually proving to be quite useful. EU says “Yes” to mile-high calls

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

Oh no. The European Commission said Monday that they plan to allow airlines to offer cellphone calls to passengers across the EU. This may sound like good news to cellphone carriers, airlines (who probably stand to gain a cut), and overzealous businessmen, but not to my ears. People (at least on the flights I’m on in the States) are already obnoxious enough on the tarmacs with their mobiles. Perhaps with some guidelines and/or rules, it may not be terrible, but I’m not holding my breath as airlines have done nothing to curtail those loudmouths, the same ones who don’t turn their phones off when they’re supposed to.

Now, I’m not against midair Internet access, mind you.

Egoman offers up MP810RSTD-43 portable media player
Posted Apr 7th 2008 12:27AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Portable Audio, Portable Video Last we heard from Egoman Technology, it was taking notes from Samsung in order to craft an eerily similar PMP of its own. The MP810RSTD-43, however, actually doesn’t look half bad on paper. This widescreen player sports a 4.3-inch 480 x 272 resolution touchscreen, handles RMVB, MP3, WMA, WAV, APC, FLAC, JPG, BMP and GIF file formats and FM radio signals; you’ll also find up to 8GB of internal memory and a voice recorder. Per usual, this one touts text viewing, TV output, USB 2.0 connectivity and a built-in equalizer to treat your ears the way they deserve to be treated.
