Hive Speaker System

Hive Speaker System
The Hive is but a simulated surround sound speaker system that is way more interesting to look at compared to a standard sound bar, featuring a hexagonal honey comb pattern that features pivoting cells that form a truly customizable audio experience without the hassle of worrying about cables or cords. The Hive will need only two at most - one connected to the nearest power outlet while the other is hooked up to your spanking new home entertainment system. First look: Fring for iPhone is out

First look: Fring for iPhone is out
The folks at fring have announced that a new version of their app made specifically for iPhone is out. The application does everything that you would expect, including letting you bring Skype, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo!, and AIM all with you on your iphone. Along with that ability you can now make free calls over WiFi with a super slick interface. The only requirement is that you need to have a Jailbroken iPhone, since this is not a browser-based application. I followed the instructions at the fringcubator and was up and running in minutes. I then logged into Skype and Google Talk and was off and running. The only issues I found so far is that Twitter, Yahoo and AIM are “chat only”, so you can’t IM with all your buds just yet. Review: ASUS P527 Windows Mobile Professional device

Review: ASUS P527 Windows Mobile Professional device
When I first heard of the ASUS P527 I was pretty excited to give it a go. The idea of ASUS (known lately for the Eee PC and other laptops) making their own Windows Mobile touchscreen device with an integrated GPS and its own GPS software sounded great, not to mention that it was ASUS’s first foray into the North American mobile market. It even included what I believe is a must-have: WiFi. Unfortunately, the specs showed a lack of 3G but I’ve grown accustomed to using an EDGE network and hopping on WiFi as needed, so I wasn’t that concerned. My usual Windows mobile device choice for touchscreen is the Mogul, and it’s a tough one to beat, especially with the integrated GPS and QWERTY keyboard, but I was optimistic. Diamante Mouse

Introduce some much needed bling to your office desk with the Diamante Mouse.

It’s time to jettison that humourless and corporate-grey mouse of yours and get some sparkle onto your desktop. Studded with a panoply of glittering fake diamonds, the Diamante Mouse is a dazzlingly different and sparklingly superior computer mouse for people wanting to be lifted from the drudgery of normal workstations.

Unfortunately, these diamonds are all fake although they do boast a rather impressive sparkle. You won’t be able to pawn it for more than £27.99 though.

Presumably ensuring that no one views Sanyo as hypocritical, the company’s Superbright PLC-ET30L actually can throw up a fairly recognizable image even in a well-lit room. Featuring an SXGA+ (1,400 x 1,050) resolution, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio and a remarkably high 4,200 ANSI lumen rating, this PJ was undoubtedly designed to function in classrooms and boardrooms (or living rooms) that just can’t avoid ambient light. Additionally, Sanyo’s introducing the lower-spec’d PLC-XT21/L, which offers up an XGA (1,024 x 768) resolution, 1:000:1 contrast ratio and 4,000 ANSI lumens. VTech IS6110 Cordless Landline Phone

VTech IS6110 Cordless Landline Phone
VTech’s new IS6110 cordless landline phone was specially designed to look like a smartphone, so you might actually fool visitors to your home by leaving it on the coffee table. Features include a full QWERTY keyboard for instant messaging purposes, connectivity to a variety of IM programs such as Windows Live Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger, a click-to-talk feature for peer-to-peer voice chats and a large LCD color display. Before you can go online though, you will have to be connected to a USB port on your PC, which is pretty pointless since you can type much better on a computer keyboard in the first place. Would be cool to have WiFi connectivity built into this $99.99 phone though. (Read the full post about ‘VTech IS6110 Cordless Landline Phone’…)
