Family locket bracelet for Mother’s Day
This cute little family locket bracelet is bound to delight any mother – for now she can wear her heart on her (sleeve) wrist with pride. Meaning, with the locket bracelet, she can have photos of her dearest family/friends right on her wrist at any time. Sweet. The bracelet is not only stylish but has utility too. Made from sterling silver, it has four lockets - each of which holds two photos. You can also add some personalization as each locket can be engraved with one initial - for that extra mush. Available from RedEnvelope for $140. The personalization comes at an extra $10. (Read the full post about ‘Family locket bracelet for Mother’s Day’…)

Track your missing purse via GPS

Track your missing purse via GPS
Here’s a novel idea, not to mention a sad reflection of the times we live in: LightsBags sell pretty purses with a difference: each one comes with GPS as standard, so that if your bag ever gets stolen, you’ll be able to track it down (and tell the police rather than acting out any vigilante justice, presumably…) The GPS can not be turned off by a thief (well, they can try, but you can override it) and if you’re not living in a crime-ridden inner city but are just succumbing to premenopausal forgetfulness, this could be useful for you, too. Call me a crazy optimist but I can’t help thinking it’s a bit sad to make sartorial choices based on potential future crimes. But if you’re interested, bags start at $30. The Photograph To Digital Picture Converter

The Photograph To Digital Picture Converter
I have a box that moves with me to every apartment never getting smaller, it holds all my old print photos and a few albums. I get very romantic over this box, because so much of my past is tucked away inside. But, I find myself increasingly worried about losing even a single item or damaging a precious photograph. I also find myself taking photos of my photos to share with friends (as you can see here). Hammacher Schlemmer’s Photograph To Digital Picture Converter efficiently converts photographs into digital images faster than a conventional scanner. I’m giving it the mom-safe seal, meaning that if my mom can use it so can anyone! Photographs are placed into a tray that slides into the converter, you just press the butt (Read the full post about ‘The Photograph To Digital Picture Converter’…)

The Stress Eraser: Real or Fake?

The Stress Eraser: Real or Fake?
When it comes to the type of products that are suppose to be stress-free, I have my doubts that they really work. By looking at the description of the StressEraser, my guesses are probably right. The working method couldn’t be much easier: stick your finger on the StressEraser for 15 minutes per day, for 2 weeks - afterwards you’re expected to feel more calmer, patient, and energetic. In case you feel the stress coming up during any time of the day, just use the Eraser once again. Believe it or not, this device won a Frost & Sullivan’s 2006 Medical Industry Award. Priced at 150. The StressEraser focuses your mind and guides your breathing to synchronize with a calming BreathWav pattern. (Read the full post about ‘The Stress Eraser: Real or Fake?’…)

Social, mobile networks; fertile ground for identity thieves

Social, mobile networks; fertile ground for identity thieves
A mobile phone company ad slogan, “it’s all about the network” is being taken to heart by identity thieves. We’re not just talking about the cellular networks that allow you to send text messages, surf the web and shop from your handy mobile device; if a Los Angeles Times story is any indication, social networks are becoming prime real estate for sleazy personal information harvesters, spammers and just plain mischief-makers. Some examples: MySpace users who didn’t know they were facilitating the spamming of friends; fake log-in pages for social sites capturing user IDs and passwords; widgets for dressing up profile pages hiding malware for stealing financial information. Set phasers to snooze with the Laser Target Alarm Clock

Set phasers to snooze with the Laser Target Alarm Clock
We’ve all had mornings where the sound of the alarm clock made us wish we had a gun to blow the shrill little noise maker away. But thanks to municipal gun laws, such tactics would likely land you in jail for firing a gun within city limits. Now you can silence an alarm clock while getting in some target practice and without the need to hire an attorney. ThinkGeek is offering a Laser Target Alarm Clock that comes with a laser gun that makes you work for sweet silence in the morning. When the alarm sounds, you pick up the phaser-like shaped gun and fire it at the target over the clock. In order to quiet the alarm the laser has to hit the center of the target. Hard Disk Crusher lets you destroy data, money with bare hands

Hard Disk Crusher lets you destroy data, money with bare hands
Looking for a creative (albeit a bit expensive) way to banish your computer’s data? EDR Solutions might have just the right thing for you. Cleverly disguised as a seemingly hibernating war machine, the Hard Disk Crusher will offer to ‘drill’ through your hard drive’s spindles, effectively killing it just like how crunch waves do brain cells. A standard 110V outlet should be enough to give this monster some juice, but in the unlikely event that you need to use this where there’s no electricity available, you can use an emergency hand-pump and crush hard drives 15 pumps at a time. How much is one Hard Disk Crusher to destroy all your unwanted data easily? (Read the full post about ‘Hard Disk Crusher lets you destroy data, money with bare hands’…)
