Concept vacuum uses fuel cell to get floors clean
One of the biggest pains about vacuuming is somtimes having to pull and push around unwieldy equipment. This vacuum, however, may make cleaning up around the house a whole lot easier while using fuel cell technology to make it run. The concept vacuum is called BacVac and was created by design studio Continuum. Like its name suggests, this vacuum is worn on your back allowing you to move the suction wand around with more convenience. The BacVac gets its power from a fuel cell which takes a bit of ethanol to give the vacuum juice and off you go. No recharging required. Of course you may not see this vacuum on the market until the cost of fuel cells becomes more reasonable. (Read the full post about ‘Concept vacuum uses fuel cell to get floors clean’…)

Dell’s XPS systems resurrected, WSJ is Judas
by Thomas Ricker, posted May 14th 2008 at 7:32AM Oops, looks like the Wall Street Journal was getting a bit of ahead of itself calling for the end of Dell’s XPS lineup. While Dell will definitely “invest like crazy” in its Alienware brand, XPS systems and indeed, XPS gaming systems “will remain an important part of our gaming product portfolio.” There won’t be an early phase-out of the XPS brand as reported by the WSJ. So there you have it, Dell XPS, resurrected after just one day in the tomb. Michael Dell truly is a savior. (Read the full post about ‘Dell’s XPS systems resurrected, WSJ is Judas’…)

Ericsson, Dell hook up on HSPA

Ericsson, Dell hook up on HSPA
Ericsson and Dell will be working together to make sure globe trotters can remain connected on Dell’s next-generation laptops, thanks to support for seamless roaming via tri-band HSPA mobile broadband networks. Dell laptops with integrated HSPA mobile broadband modules from Ericsson will be available sometime in the second half of this year. I wonder how much of a premium one must fork out for this, but it is interesting to note that as the world gets ever closer together in terms of people being able to travel virtually anywhere these days, they tend to be further apart due to such technology that keeps them isolated. Ever seen a family reunion where kids play with their own DS Lites while teen (Read the full post about ‘Ericsson, Dell hook up on HSPA’…)

Internet TV heads for Cars Now

Written by admin on Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 in gadgets.

Just when you thought the car was safe from the long tentacles of TV, USTelematics throws a spanner in the works by delivering IPTV to its Voyager in-car entertainment systems, allowing drivers and passengers alike to continue their couch potato habits while stuck in rush-hour traffic jam. In addition, USTelematics will offer a “mobilecast” program known as 4VDO which will deliver both broadcast and video programming. I suppose with moves like these, it is only a matter of time before fast food companies begin to offer delivery services for those in a gridlock. Guess this means we won’t be able to escape from ads while driving, eh?

Globe Telecom To Carry iPhones In The Philippines!
It’s official! The 3G iPhones will be coming to the Asian shores in the months to come and it’s out in the open that Globe Telecoms will be it’s official carrier in the Philippines! Lucky for Globe subscribers! But truth be told, I’m sure not if a lot of people are excited about the iPhones coming to Asia, since technically, we’ve experienced the iPhone ever since it came out! But the good thing about having the official iPhone for Asia is we will now be able to actually access the iTunes Store (Yay! But I wonder how much it’ll cost? *smirk*) and test out the different applications for the iPhones… legally! (I wonder if the iPhone prices will suddenly sky ro (Read the full post about ‘Globe Telecom To Carry iPhones In The Philippines!’…)

Steve Jobs Will Present WWDC 2008 Keynote
It’s official. Steve Jobs will be opening the 2008 Worldwide Developers Conference with the traditional SteveNote. On its own, this means nothing, but we all know that there could never be a major product announcement without Jobs on the stage. Our money is on a new iphone and a proper update to the MacBook Pro line. A new aluminum MacBook would be nice, too. CEO Steve Jobs, will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2008 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. This year’s WWDC will showcase two revolutionary development platforms, the ground-breaking innovations of OS X Leopard® and OS X iPhone™, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. Details on Guitar Hero IV

Details on Guitar Hero IV
There are more details filtering out for Guitar Hero IV, and this time round Activision’s hot selling franchise will follow Rock Band more closely by offering a slew of new instruments such as a bass, microphone and six-piece drumset which is accompanied by two cymbals. There is no word on whether both Guitar Hero IV and Rock Band instruments will be cross-compatible, but kudos to the developers if they make it so. After all, not doing so will only lead folks to take sides, which is not exactly a good thing. At press time, you can expect tracks from Van Halen, The Eagles, Sublime, and Linkin Park to make the grade. Guitar Hero IV will hit the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 before the year is over.
