Metal Gear Solid 4 is taking so long that maybe the 5G ipod was current when it was time to render Solid Snake’s mp3 player. Or maybe Snake just likes to keep things old school. Either way, these screenshots from the show yet another video game cameo appearance from Apple.

You know when you read a Top 5 list and the writer runs out of ideas after just four items? Well, the same thing seems to have happened to Sprint in it’s $100 million War on iphone ad campaign. After focussing on some rather short-lived advantages of the Samsung Instinct over the Stupendabrick (GPS, video camera, 3G and Live TV), Sprint came up short. The latest spot is entitled “Downloading music away from Wi-Fi”.
That’s a pretty specific difference. (Read the full post about ‘Sprint Runs Out Of Ammuntion In Instinct vs IPhone Battle’…)

Canon’s new Selphy CP770 is a dye sublimation printer in a bucket. It will output 6″x4″ prints at the rate of one per minute. Did we say it comes in a bucket? The unusual design starts to make sense when you read Canon’s blurb: The printer works with an optional battery for use at picnics and parties, where the bucket is also ideal for carrying fried chicken.
There’s a small 2.5″ LCD screen for previewing before you print and the printer will take input from just about anything: USB, Infra Red, optional Bluetooth and pretty much any memory card in existence. A niche product, to be sure, but a cute one. In a bucket.

by Darren Murph, posted May 16th 2008 at 6:30PM Just like that obscure Burt Bacharach album, some DAPs just need a little time to grow on you. Now that SanDisk’s comparatively inexpensive Sansa Fuze has been out and about for a couple of months, we’re imploring you dear readers to cast out your opinions on the minuscule device. Are you satisfied with the interface? Have you been disappointed by the sound quality? Was this thing just one feature away from being perfect? by Darren Murph, posted May 16th 2008 at 3:40PM See how easy it is everyone? All that’s required to snag a blackberry Bold well before its public release is to become a Grammy award-winning artist, sell out shows worldwide, date a smattering of superstars and convince Fender to create and sell your own branded guitar. While you’re off working on step one, John Mayer is living it up with his brand new BlackBerry Bold. Granted, he can’t claim to be the very first with said handset, but it’s likely the first completely legitimate edition let loose. Rollout still won’t happen until later this year, which really means late this year if not next, as no dates have been announced. Anyway, Sprint who has been working with Samsung on this say it’s ready.
There’s a collection of companies (Clearwire, Google, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Bright House Networks) that will bear the brunt of the cost of getting WiMax out to over 120 million customers by the end of 2010. That’s just a year and a half. I can’t wait.

We first laid our eyes on the F400 back at MWC this year amidst the F490 and Soul. Now, this music-oriented phone is all set to invade France later this month. The Samsung F400 has all the makings of a good music phone including a very significant inclusion, a 3.5mm headphone jack. All the major manufacturers tend to ignore this vital feature on their “musicphones,” although there are a few exceptions. Along with the jack, the phone appears packed pretty good for the music lovers with Bang & Olufsen amplifier technology and DNSe 2.0 to enhance listening experience, which should be good either on a pair of headphones or its dual speakers.
