Sanyo has announced the start of a new relationship with Sharp that will see the firm buy some of its lcd panels from its competitor.

Sanyo will continue to source panels from other companies as well, but the Sharp deal is part of a larger goal to start working together on other products. Currently, they are also considering working together to release a range of kitchen appliances. Yuko Hasaka, spokesperson for Sanyo said:

We hope to expand our business by having a mutually complementary relationship with Sharp … Sharp’s strength in LCD is part of that.

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Review - CNET

Written by admin on Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 in gadgets.

CNET reviews the blackberry Pearl 8120 and writes, “Finally, the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 is equipped with an upgraded 2-megapixel lens (from 1.3 megapixels), complete with video recording capabilities. For still images, there’s a 5x zoom and flash, as well as three picture sizes and three quality options. You also get white-balance settings and several color effects you can add to the photo. Meanwhile, video options are bit more limited with just two video formats (normal or multimedia message), three color effects, and a video light…Overall, we were happy with the picture quality. Objects were clearly defined, but colors lacked a bit of warmth.

Palm Centro Review - Wired

Written by admin on Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 in gadgets.

Wired reviews the Paml Centro and writes, “The Palm Centro is like the friend you call when you need to be bailed out of jail: Reliable, smart and capable of getting the job done. But its dependable nature also means it’s not exactly the handset you want to party with…No WiFi or integrated GPS (a Bluetooth GPS receiver is optional). Short three-hour battery life. The 1.3-megapixel camera captured crap-quality photos. Plastic housing feels like it could be busted by a strong wind.”

Drivemocion Updates Itself

Written by admin on Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 in gadgets.

The Drivemocion car smiley sign has received an upgrade, and this time round it features various animations including one that shouts. Apparently, the manufacturer wanted to convey more emotion and expression for car-to-car communication, featuring animated messages such as flirting, happy/thankful, sad/sorry and cheeky. These will be displayed in the same user friendly round message screen (face sized), with suction cups inside the rear window holding it fast. Hopefully anger communicated in a non-threatening manner will help abate road rage in the long run as we learn to rely less and less on the one finger salute.

Canon 5D Mark II Coming Soon?
Word on the street has it that the Canon 5D Mark II will soon make a debut on the marketplace, leaving us with yet another DSLR to choose from whenever the itch to get a new camera strikes. Why do we say so? Well, Amazon is already carrying the Canon EOS 5D Mark II Digital Field Guide which probably means the camera itself is on the way as well. After all, why write a field guide on vaporware? November would be a good time to tell whether the Canon 5D Mark II will actually make it or not. eMagin Z800 3D visor

eMagin Z800 3D visor
eMagin Corporation decided to make a huge splash at the Society for Information Display Conference and Exhibition (SID 2008) at the Los Angeles Convention Center by introducing its most recent OLED microdisplays, including the pretty nifty Z800 3DVisor. This futuristic device will rely on a couple of power-efficient OLED microdisplays, giving the wearers a 3D equivalent of a 105″ display viewed from 12 feet away - sounds pretty awesome since it is pretty impossible for the average Joe to just purchase a 105″ flat panel display at his whim and fancy these days, considering just how low the dollar is along with more pressing issues to attend to instead of mulling over purchasing a brand new TV. Written by admin on Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 in gadgets.

by Nilay Patel, posted May 26th 2008 at 8:00PMGameStop leaked the existence of the $100 Rock Band Stage Kit back in January, and it’s updated the listing with the first pictures we’ve seen of the included smoke machine and strobe light. The smoke machine looks fairly ordinary, but the light features controls so Rock Band vocalists can apparently blind themselves while making selections.
