OCZ Diesel USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Written by admin on Monday, June 16th, 2008 in gadgets.

OCZ has unveiled its new Diesel USB 2.0 flash drive that was paraded at the recently concluded Computex ‘08 event in Taiwan. Despite the small form factor, you won’t find yourself running short on space as it comes in a durable yet attractive aluminum housing along with the option to attach it to a lanyard or keyring, making it highly portable. Available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, you will find that the OCZ Diesel caters to just about any need, be it a student or a working professional. Too bad there’s no cover-less design though as it can be a hassle making sure the cap does not go missing during use.

T-Mobile in the US has finally done away with the entry level T219 cell phone from Samsung by introducing the T229 as a replacement. Some of the improvements include a VGA camera, an “audio postcard” feature that allows you to include a sound clip into a photo, basic data access, and support for MyFaves. Available in a special red-and-champagne color, the Samsung T229 will be priced slightly higher than free at $30, as long as you don’t mind tying yourself down to a two-year contract.

No, pointing this at your boss won’t make him disintegrate into thin air (depending on what your working environment is like, that could either be a good or a bad thing). The HP Handheld All-in-One SP400 Scanner is one nifty device that doesn’t leave you confined to the desk, as it is able to scan data and send it wirelessly to a nearby computer, or even print a label directly on the package should the need arise. Among the advantages include saving up to half the cost of thermal labels while eliminating paper waste as you imprint on documents on an as-is basis. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention it makes you look cool as all get out at the same time.

Sidekick LX update coming on June 25

Written by admin on Monday, June 16th, 2008 in gadgets.

While the official announcement of the Tony Hawk branded Sidekick LX showed us a neat new limited edition model, it also gave up some details on just what every other current Sidekick LX users had to look forward to, most notably the soon-to-come video capture support.

Well the good news is that the update will begin to roll out in a little over a week from now. Coming in the form of an over-the-air update it is scheduled to begin on June 25 and will be rolling out, as opposed to hitting everyone at the same time. Which means that in the past it has taken upwards of 4 weeks to reach everyone, so while the update is well worth the wait, try and be patient if yours does not arrive on the first day.

Kensington introduces the ShareCentral peripheral hub, SlimBlade Bluetooth mouse
by Joshua Topolsky, posted Jun 16th 2008 at 2:02PM Kensington has just unloaded a slew of new “back to school” items on the world — luckily for you, only about three of them are interesting. The first item worth your precious time is the ShareCentral ($39.99 - $79.99), a series of USB / peripheral hubs that allow you to share printers, scanners, or other USB devices amongst several computers without the typical mountain of cables. The other items of interest are the new $59.99 SlimBlade Bluetooth mouse, which is — you guessed it — a Bluetooth mouse / presentation remote, and the $39.99 Ci95m Wireless Mouse, a 2.4GHz input device with a “nano receiver” and rubberized exterior. DisplayLink simplifies connection to projectors

Written by admin on Monday, June 16th, 2008 in gadgets.

If you haven’t been a victim yourself, you’ve probably been at a meeting where it has happened. Someone is about to do a presentation when they notice they don’t have the right type of display cable or graphics port to connect to the projector. Another good one is where the cable is not a problem, but the screen resolution of the computer is, so people watch and wait while you figure out what resolution a projector will support. InFocus now has two projector models that will feature DisplayLink’s USB graphics connection technology.
