Electric Blue Palm Centro heading to AT&T this Friday
It looks like AT&T will soon be offering another flavor of the hot selling Palm Centro smartphone. The electric blue Palm Centro will be available beginning Friday and in addition to the new color, it will also get a drop in price. Palm however is keeping a tight wrap on just what the lowered price will be, with a simple statement that it will be “more affordable than ever.” Our guess is that (thanks to mail-in-rebates) it will go down as low as $49.99. The new electric blue color will join the existing glacier white and obsidian black that have previously been available. I am sure that not everyone is interested in, or wants an iphone 3G, however July 11 sounds like a strange day to release a new color variety of the Centro. Elgato is finally doing MacBook Air owners right with their new EyeTV DTT Deluxe USB dongle that blends in with the overall thin theme of the macbook air, and will be able to easily fit itself into other Mac USB 2.0 ports without any hassle. The EyeTV DTT Deluxe will come with a couple of antennas that make up a standard digital TV tuner aerial and a telescopic job. The former is meant for areas with weak signals, while the latter serves strong signal zones. You won’t find analogue tuners on board with this offering though, but Elgato did point toward its improved signal processing hardware that helps deliver lossless images to your screen. 3G iPhone Unboxing

3G iPhone Unboxing
I wonder what’s the big deal about an unboxing, but apparently plenty of people go nuts over it as there seems to be something special about a device that is unveiled for the first time. Here we have a purported 3G iphone unboxing image (8GB model) courtesy of iPhonePortugal. The package looks pretty real, while the power adapter is slightly rounded despite sharing many similarities with the current power supply in Europe. The rounded back will definitely yield some fingerprints when you look at it against the light. The jury is still out on this one - do you think this is the real deal or a fake? Board of Directors with an alternative slate he is proposing. In Icahn’s letter he has stated that he has had frequent conversations in the past week with Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer. Those discussions with Ballmer have revealed the fact that the CEO does not believe he could enter into any agreement with the current board.

WiQuest PIN Association Method

Written by admin on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

WiQuest PIN Association Method
Certified Wireless USB devices require a handshaking protocol as they cannot be paired through a USB cable as found on their wired counterparts, and those dealing with a screen can do this through a graphical interface. WiQuest aims to make the entire experience easier with a new PIN association method. This offers enterprise-level security by assigning the user with a special character key or PIN (up to 28 characters long) to each WUSB device. After the wireless association process kicks in, the PC’s software will prompt for the same PIN, and entering the right code will complete the secure pairing. Review: Samsung’s Bicephalous Monitor De-Clutters Your Desktop

Review: Samsung’s Bicephalous Monitor De-Clutters Your Desktop
Samsung SyncMaster 2263DX We all need a little extra screen real estate from time to time. So when widgets, windows and various other digital ephemera start to metastasize, there are generally two common fixes: Upgrade to a more spacious 24 or 30-inch monitor, or shell out a little extra scrilla for a second screen to complement the first. Samsung’s latest solution is a bit more, um, freakish. The SyncMaster 2263DX may in fact be the first documented case of craniopagus parasiticus in an LCD unit, and is actually two monitors in one — a dominant 22-inch screen with a not-quite-fully-developed 7-inch (parasitic) monitor protruding from its backside. Admittedly, it’s a nifty idea, especially for those with limited desk space. (Read the full post about ‘Review: Samsung’s Bicephalous Monitor De-Clutters Your Desktop’…)

Exquisitely Creepy Steampunk Gas Mask

Written by admin on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

Exquisitely Creepy Steampunk Gas Mask
This rather disturbing object is called the Steampunk Gas Mask 9. It marries the compulsory Steampunk materials, leather and brass, with a genuine Soviet-era gas mask. As an object, it is beautiful, and exquisitely crafted. The prop makers on Doctor Who could learn a thing or two from the tinkerer responsible, Bob Basset. But as apparel? No. This should never, ever be worn, at least not outside the bedroom. As Meredith Scheff writes over at the Steampunk Workshop, “even gimps are getting into the steampunk”.
