Ikea’s PS Laptop Workstation for the space challenged

Ikea’s PS Laptop Workstation for the space challenged
Ikea is one of those stores that I can’t help but love, especially being young and broke enough that my living space tends to be a bit cramped.  Just about any storage or furniture issue I have Ikea has some kind of a solution for.  The unfortunate thing is that I’d like to buy about half the things at their store, which adds up to a small fortune in furniture.  Well if you don’t have room for a full desk and would like a little corner to park your laptop and work for a few hours Ikea also has a solution for that. Water Buoy keeps your impotant items from sinking
With summer in full swing, many of you are probably spending a lot of time on the water. And with that I’m sure most of you have experienced the sinking feeling of losing something important like a cell phone or important sets of keys into the water, never to see them again. Well, with the Water Buoy flotation device, the chances of recovering your precious items just got a lot better. Unlike most passive flotation devices the Water Buoy does more than just keep your keys or gizmos afloat. Once the Buoy hits water, it inflates a bright orange balloon to keep the attached overboard items from sinking (up to 1Kg) and makes them even easier to spot. What if you drop something over the side at night? (Read the full post about ‘Water Buoy keeps your impotant items from sinking’…)

Rogers offer Cheaper 3G iPhone Plan

Rogers offer Cheaper 3G iPhone Plan
Rogers have finally buckled under pressure where the 3G iphone plans are concerned, where the promotional 6GB data plan will cost you $30 monthly if you happen to subscribe to a 3-year contract before the 31st of next month. It won’t be close (at all) to the unlimited data package, but unless you use the 3G iPhone as a modem primarily, 6GB is plenty of bandwidth where casual Internet surfing is concerned. It will be a different matter altogether if you happen to be one heavy Torrent addict. (Read the full post about ‘Rogers offer Cheaper 3G iPhone Plan’…)

Nokia’s 8208 music slider out in the open

Nokia’s 8208 music slider out in the open
Is Nokia about to release a new music based phone anytime soon? Well, if the product page of this “unofficially announced” Nokia 8208 is an indication, we may well be looking at a new Nokia slider waiting to be officially unveiled. The new handset is called the Nokia 8208 which from what we’ve gathered is being geared for a release in the Chinese market. Based on what we can see from the product page, the Nokia 8208 is being prepped to be another music phone which interestingly does not belong to the Nokia N-series models. The Nokia 8208 is a two-way slider phone with key features such as a 3.0-megapixel camera, external keys for playing music, FM Radio, digital music player and a GPS service which is either a stand-alone receiver for other countries or a hybrid GPS receiver for China’s Unicom. Gadgetell Peep Show: Garmin Colorado 400c

Gadgetell Peep Show: Garmin Colorado 400c
Summer adventures require some serious gadgetry, enter the Garmin Colorado 400c.  Billed as a mariners best friend this GPS handheld meshes waterproofing, marine Blue Charts and innovative UI and controls.  I’ve got the Colorado in hand for some serious trialing.  My aim is to test it on the sea, land and if I can get it past the FAA, air.  The actual review may be delayed pending my arraignment. Initial thoughts: wheel is very intuitive to use.  Seems capable for multi-use.  Reaction time is very good to changes in direction.  Satellite acquisition is quick.  Fun to use. But on to the peep show.  (hit the jump for images) Product Page [G (Read the full post about ‘Gadgetell Peep Show: Garmin Colorado 400c’…)

iPhone 3G reviewed at the WSJ and NYT

Written by admin on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 in gadgets.

Everyone knows that this is iPhone 3G week, but so far we have had to be content with lot so rumors, some facts about what plans will be available, the occasional guide to scoring your new iPhone, and an unboxing or two. These phones are still incredibly hard to come by before their release date–even though it’s Friday—and Apple’s ability to prevent them from leaking reminds me of the last time a Harry Potter book came out.

Two pillars of tech journalism, the Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg and The New York Times’ David Pogue, have posted their reviews of the new iPhone today.

Mossberg’s review brings up a number of high points, but ultimately he’s not nearly as in enamored with the phone as those people sitting outside of Apple store–in line for the phone– for the last week would have liked.

Waterproof Vibrating Love Pillow

Waterproof Vibrating Love Pillow
Isn’t this a hoot - the Waterproof Vibrating Love Pillow says it all. It not only doubles up as a contoured pillow for you to help you get enough rest even in uncomfortable conditions, while there is a slot within that holds a vibrating stick of some kind. Of course, you can remove the vibrating stick to provide your neck and thigh with a soothing massage, although I strongly believe that most people would be more than inclined to use it elsewhere instead. No idea on how much this will cost though, but I wouldn’t want to share this pillow with anyone else due to the more intimate association with it. Hasselblad unveil their 50-megapixel H3DII-50 camera
For those of you who aren’t into the camera scene, the Hasselblad company has been making some of the best cameras for many proud generations. In fact, these guys have been making cameras since photography was invented. If Hasselblad cameras are gourmet food, then all other cameras are like McDonalds.  The company’s newest flagship camera is the H3DII-50. It is so named because it has 50, count ‘em, 50-megapixels. It also features Kodak’s 36 x 48mm sensor which is about twice the size of the largest 35mm sensors.  Other features are improved controls and functionality, better sensor cooling, a new and more intuitive interface, plus a bright 3-inch display.
