Teclast M31 Heads for the FCC
Having a Chinese portable media player make a beeline for the FCC is not a common sight, but the Teclast M31 surely goes against the grain by doing so. A seamless metal body encases the innards carefully, offering various openings to accommodate the USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack and a handful of buttons. Features include a 178-degree viewing angle display, touch sensitive buttons, TV Out and compatibility with RMVB, RM, FLV, AVI, WMV and DAT file formats. No idea on pricing details though, but that shouldn’t be a hindrance. (Read the full post about ‘Teclast M31 Heads for the FCC’…)

Flex Your Tech With USBee Drive
It’s probably fair to say most of use have damaged a USB drive while stuck inside a computer by bumping it, jamming it or stuffing it in via the wrong direction. To reduce the possibility of damage and increase the life of your USB stick, designer Damjan Stankovic has come up with a flexible USB device. The “USBee” is a new prototype design which includes a flexible neck just after the USB connector but still keeps the flash memory useable for data storage. The USBee is shaped like a Bee and has thin wire between the USB connector and flash memory to provide flex under stress. It does look like a manufacturing nightmare, but hey, if we can build automobiles with robots, I’m sure we can string out some wire between point A and point B to make a flex drive. Holographic technology is employed to help kids interact with it, and also doubles up as an imaginary friend ala Calvin & Hobbes. Sony Ericsson Reveals Three (or Six) New Walkman Phones

Written by admin on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 in gadgets.

Sony Ericsson Reveals Three (or Six) New Walkman Phones
Note to Sony Ericsson: If you want writers to give your new products more than a cursory look over, try not releasing three phones in the same day. Better yet, don’t make variations on those three models by adding “a” or “c” to the names. Today the phones in question are three (or six) new Walkman models, the W902, W302, W302c, W595, W595a and W595c, shown left to right above. The suffixes appear to be minor color variations and/or the addition of UMTS 2100/HSDPA (the W595a). See how confusing this is? The W902 is distinguished by a 5MP camera and 25MB of internal memory (all the phones have a Memory Stick Micro slot to add more memory). Kia Soul to be marketed globally with a choice of three highly efficient engines
Kia Motors has confirmed that its all-new production model, the Kia Soul, will be marketed globally with a choice of three highly efficient engines (depending on individual markets), when it goes on sale in early 2009. The most powerful engine will be a 2-litre gasoline unit. A smaller capacity 1.6-litre gasoline engine will be offered in most countries, alongside a 1.6-litre diesel engine featuring a VGT (variable geometry turbocharger). Both the 1.6-litre, four cylinder, 16-valve DOHC power units are based closely on engines fitted to the hugely successful, European-built, Kia cee’d.
