Project: Alien Mouse gets your arm into it
by Darren Murph, posted Jul 25th 2008 at 2:51PM Mizanur Rahman is clearly sick and tired of traditional mousing devices. So sick and tired, in fact, that he’s kicked out a rendering of the Project: Alien Mouse. In short, this decidedly gigantic mouse shoots for ergonomics by providing a place for your wrist, lower arm and maybe your elbow if you’re a small enough person. We’ll be honest, all those gel cushions sure look comfy from here, but the amount of brain energy that would be required to use it kind of puts a damper on the whole deal. Thanko Cooler USB Keyboard

Thanko Cooler USB Keyboard
Summer is here, and Thanko is on a mission to keep things cool with their new Thanko Cooler USB keyboard. It works pretty much the same way as those bowling lane machines do, featuring air vents to keep those fingers and palms dry. Good thing the built-in fan comes with a switch on the front end of the keyboard, as you can turn it off whenever you don’t need it. A trio of fans will ensure that you get an adequate amount of air to keep your hands dry as you furiously type out that report for your boss. I’m not too sure how noisy this is going to get though, but hopefully your co-workers will understand as they too benefit from not having to shake a clammy hand with you the next time. USB M.A.D. Game Pad

USB M.A.D. Game Pad
Brando has the new USB M.A.D. Game Pad which was specially designed to fit virtually any gamer’s needs when traveling. I’m afraid it might be just nice for smaller sized hands, but those with larger palms and long digits will find themselves feeling cramped after a while. Still, it comes with a mini-detachable steering wheel for a mini-sized driving experience if you’re into racing simulators. The USB M.A.D. Game Pad will retail for $20 a pop and is currently available for pre-order, with the stock shipping in the middle of August. (Read the full post about ‘USB M.A.D. Game Pad’…)

The Solar Mini Clip Fan steals your dignity

The Solar Mini Clip Fan steals your dignity
This is one of those gadgets you can only get away with if you’re either married, very old or completely shameless.  It is a solar fan which attaches to the bill of your hat to keep you cool while out antiquing or whatever it is people do that wear strange hats.  This ranks up there with the umbrella hats, both of them are just not right.  I realize when it is extremely hot and you’re stuck outdoors you have to do anything you can just to keep cool. Toshiba’s prototype UMPC probably won’t go into production

Toshiba’s prototype UMPC probably won’t go into production
Toshiba is very good at dominating the laptop market, and it looks like they have tried to make a new kind of ultra-mobile personal computer (UMPC).  This particular UMPC features an Atom processor with 64GB of ssd storage.  It has Windows Vista, as well as a GPS.  Not only does it have a lovely silver frame, but a 5.6-inch touchscreen.  As you can see from the picture, the touchscreen allows for an intriguing keyboard for a double-handed interface.  I’ve never really seen anything like it before, but I’m certain that I am wrong.  I mean if it were that innovative, wouldn’t Toshiba put this UMPC prototype into production. Asustek offers Whole Day Battery Life

Asustek offers Whole Day Battery Life
Asustek Computer wants to include a new feature in their Eee PC range that would be more than welcome - a “whole day” battery life as well as Internet storage. Word has it that Asustek will also roll out software and hardware upgrades each month to fill gaps in the netbook market, but will that move put people off from buying stuff that gets obsolete so soon? Considering the Eee PC’s dismal battery life, I would definitely look forward to one that is able to last a trans-Atlantic flight without dying a couple of hours in the journey. Journey MP3 Player

Journey MP3 Player
Frankly, I’ve never heard of Journey before until this day, but I’m sure that there are some hardcore Journey fans who will be more than willing to part with their cash for this Journey MP3 player. It comes with 1GB of internal memory and boasts 11 of Journey’s new songs in addition to 11 re-recorded classics. Walmart is currently carrying this limited edition $39.88 mp3 player, but I would rather settle for something more mainstream instead. (Read the full post about ‘Journey MP3 Player’…)
